Synthetic data for privacy-preserving data-driven innovation
Co-founder and CTO, RYVER.AI
Simona Santamaria is co-founder and CTO of RYVER, a start-up focusing synthetic data in healthcare. Her academic background is in mechanical engineering and computer science. She has researched in this area at the University of Tokyo and published research in collaboration with ETH Zurich and MIT in the area of AI for climate change. Prior to RYVER Simona worked as data scientist at Amazon in London and collaborated with the Bosch Center for Artificial Intelligence in Germany.
RYVER is a start-up focusing on privacy-preserving technologies to enable artificial intelligence without compromising privacy. They provide software to generate private synthetic data and assess its privacy and quality. In collaboration with hospitals, patient data is synthesised and then used for research, data augmentation and collaborations. The synthesis is based on deep learning in combination with differential privacy.
